Are You Ready for Golf Season?
Depending on where you live, it might not look or feel like golf season yet ... but it'll be here before you know it. Here are our top three tips to make sure you're prepared to hit the fairway swinging when spring comes.
1) Practice, Practice, Practice
Whether it's at a local driving range with a bucket of balls or at home in the basement or garage (without the balls, unless you're also looking for a headache), nothing prepares you for hitting the links quite like practice. Peter Morrice from Golf Digest suggests breaking down your swing so that you're focusing on one part at a time. At first, start working on just your setup. Once you've practiced it a few times and feel like you've got it down, then do the same for the backswing, impact and finish -- then put it all together.
2) Stay in Shape
As any seasoned player knows, your swing isn't just about the strength of your dominant arm. The muscles in your core, glutes, hips, shoulders and back are all big factors in your game -- so it's important to pay attention to them in the off-season. Men's Fitness has a great set of exercises developed with golfers in mind -- most of which you can do at home (we knew what you were thinking!).
3) Get Your Gear Ready
From your shades to your cleats, make sure your gear is ready to go. Clean your grips with warm, soapy water; replace your cleats if you can; and, most importantly, give yourself a competitive edge with Eagle Eyes' men's and women's sunglasses. Specially developed to enable golfers like you to play your best game possible, our Pro-Master™ sunglasses are engineered for long-lasting performance and comfort -- plus the highest standard of sun protection. With NASA optic technology, our TriLenium® polarized lenses block 99.9% of harmful UV radiation and cut scattered blue light and glare. They also enhance colors, and improve contrast and definition so that you can keep your eye on what's really important: getting back in the game.
