But it wasn’t until a team of NASA scientists studied this phenomenon that the true secret of the eagles’ vision was revealed: special oil droplets of orange, red & yellow coating their eyes and enabling eagles to spot their prey at great distances, no matter the lighting conditions.
Once these unique lens coatings were analyzed and ultimately synthesized, NASA knew exactly where they wanted to take it…into space. Their goal was to protect and enhance their astronauts’ vision while working on missions in space, to the moon and beyond.
